Romania: Storm Batters Bucharest With Heavy Rain, Strong Winds

Footage showed strong winds and heavy rain battering Bucharest around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, as an overnight storm flooded buildings and vehicles across the Romanian capital following a heatwave that swept much of Europe. One person died in nearby Ganeasa, west of Bucharest, after being struck by a falling tree.

Japan: Storm Systems Bring 100 mm/h Downpour, Causing Flooding in Miyagi

Storm systems brought widespread heavy rain across eastern and northern Japan on Wednesday, October 1. In Miyagi Prefecture, weather alerts were issued as torrential rainfall of approximately 100 mm per hour was reported, causing road floods. Evacuation orders were issued for tens of thousands of homes in Tagajo.

China: Fierce Storm Strikes Huizhou City

A severe storm struck the Huicheng District in Huizhou City, Guangdong Province on March 29. This footage shows the apocalyptic howling winds when the storm hit. Widespread short-term heavy rainfall, severe winds exceeding level ten, and hail were observed in several areas of Huizhou.

China: Ferocious Winds Lash Sanya During Severe Storm

Some areas of Sanya in Hainan were hit by severe storms that brought strong winds and caused significant damage last March 29. The Provincial Meteorological Observatory warned of high occurrence of severe convective weather, reminding Hainan locals to be vigilant against disasters such as hailstorms, thunderstorms, strong winds, intense lightning, short-term heavy rainfall, and tornadoes.
